What is Postcard Marketing?

Wrap-with-DAL-Card-on-TopWhat is Postcard Marketing?

Postcard marketing is a type of direct mail marketing strategy that involves sending postcards to potential customers or clients through the mail. Postcards are a cost-effective and efficient way to promote your business or product, and can be used for a variety of purposes such as advertising a sale, announcing a new product, inviting people to your business, your website, an event, or simply keeping in touch with customers to make sure they stay engaged with your brand.

The Smart Card is our name for our postcard marketing program. Long ago when we started offering a postcard marketing program, it only made sense to name the card just that, a “Smart Card”, because when it arrives at the recipients home, it’s not attached to our shared mail package, the Wrap, so it appears as if it is an individual postcard sent out on its own. But in fact, when it leaves the post office, it is on top of the Wrap, so the cost of the postcard shares in the significant savings that all our merchants receive by advertising in The Wrap.

Only one Smart Card, per Wrap publication, has this special cost-saving opportunity each month. These Smart Cards have a “fixed” message, meaning no unique customization. The card includes high impact 4-color graphics printed on both sides using a quality 9pt coated cardstock. Our low pricing always includes custom mapping of your target market, customer demographic information, free ad design, printing, and postage

And here’s one of the best things about the Smart Card, it is available at Carrier Route targeting.

To start your Smart Card marketing campaign, we will first need to identify your target audience. The key to a successful marketing campaign is to target the right audience to receive your offer. That can easily be completed by evaluating a radius around your business. We offer a FREE Demographic Targeting Report where we identify the key target audience around your place of business and their propensity to purchase your product or service. We look at data such as renting or owning, family with children under 18 years of age, how many cars do they own, what are their buying habits, marital status, income, etc. We’ll go over the report with you and help you narrow down to the exact carrier routes or full Zip Codes that best fits your target audience.

What is a QR Code?

QR stands for “Quick Response” and are a fantastic tool for tracking your marketing campaign.

QR Codes are very similar to barcodes, but can be read by a smartphone’s camara. QR Codes drive your postcard recipients to your website. Get new unique ones for each of your marketing campaigns to document the analytics of each campaign and confirm other analytic data received.

Once you have your mailing list, you can design your postcard or work with our design team and we’ll design one for you at no cost. We will make sure your Smart Card is visually appealing and includes a clear message that is easy to read. It’s important to include a call-to-action, such as a discount code, a coupon to redeem in store or online or a link to your website with a QR Code that is placed on the Smart Card. Its a great practice for the QR Code link to go to a special landing page that echoesthe message on your Smart Card plus includes some more relevant information that is intriguing and draws the recipient in to your offer. QR Codes and Landing Pages are also great ways to additionally track your ROI for your marketing campaign.

After the design of your Smart Card is approved and the target audience is identified, we’ll go ahead and print and mail your Smart Card for you at no additional costs. So easy. No dealing with agencies, third party printers, the post office. We got you taken care of from the inital phone call all the way through to the arrival of your offer into the recipient’s mailbox!

Overall, postcard marketing is a highly-effective way to reach your target audience and promote your business or product. By following these tips and best practices, you can create a successful postcard marketing campaign that generates results for you.
